What’s up everyone, it’s been a long ass time since my last post. Needless to say I’ve been busy as a mother fucker. Still skateboarding and now I am in a new band called Abbicus. We are as of this time in the studio recording our first demo. I am in Rhode Island college and there are two skate parks down the street. There is Olnyville and the new North Providence skate park which the moved because of graffiti. So what does the town do? Move it 1/4 mile down the street. The North Providence park had the best half pipe around, but when they moved the park, they put the half pipe on a crazy hill; fucked up the whole thing. From here on I’m going to keep everyone posted on the new shit!

Sunday was the first time ALMOST everyone good from the park skated together in Prov. A lot of shit went down, weather it was Justin’s varial kickie off the monument, Russ’s Front 180 down the long monument 7, My front 180 down the monument 7, Joe’s 360 flip off the broken side walk into the street, or Jose’s handicap ramp to ollie the gap. Everyone had a decent day of skating. Putting aside the fact that mine and Jose’s ankles are fucked due to his back lip down the round rail at the park and my 360 flip down the Jerrys four. First spot we hit was the train station. Russ laid down a FS 180 straight outta the car, Frankie heelflipped ‘em, Justin kickflipped and pop shuved ’em, I half cabbed ‘em, Chody I think kickflipped ‘em, Jose hit the cleanest kickflip over ’em, Romeiro I’m pretty sure ollied them, Joe…….. I can’t remember what Joe did but I’m sure it was good andTyler Came close to the heelflip if not landed them . The next spot was one to get us amped. After we were done fuckin’ around on the monument, Tyler found a pretty gnarly gap. It started from the monument to ollie over a side walk, over a bench, down a 6″ drop and down to where the docks are for the boats. “Yours truly” hit it first try so I’m going to name it “THE CHING WAH GAP”. Next to land the Gap was Jose, it took him a few tries but he didn’t let the slams he took stop him, he stuck like 5th time around and landed smooth. Russ was up next. (is it me or is it when Russ slams, he slams harder than anyone I ever met?) Russ was the last person to land the gap and we went on our merry little way. One more thing I’m going to write about before I call it quits was the court house gap. With me behind the lens I caught Jose’s first attempt. He landed so clean but as soon at he reached the side walk he hit hard. Sorry dude, but it don’t count. With the security on our ass Russ hit it with the quickness and landed it first try. Needless to say he was stoked. It was a pretty badass day of skating. If you want more of the updated info. call one of us up or ask us at the park. Peace holmes!

Why does everything SUCK!

Jerrys four set, nothing much to it. Just a little stair set small enough that even Antonio could jump down them. So how the FUCK do I sprain my ankle down them!? It was raining like a bastard on Monday the 13th and Matt, Cody (Chody), and I (Tittybar) were skatin’ the only place we could (Ethan Allen was still open, It was a holiday). I hit so much shit down that little stair set that morning. First trick, Nollie, then a kickflip, shuv-it, switch ollie, half-cab, and last but not least my favorite 360 flip. Nuthin’ mind boggling but when you hit then in 3 or less tries then its kind of impressive (I think).

I landed each about 3 or 4 times before we called it quits. On the way home we called lil’ Joe who was with Joe Morne (if thats how you spell his fuckin name), Frankie (Jim), Marc, 2 random broads, some little blonde headed kid I know from the park and someone else……..I don’t feel like typing that much. Anyway, they just got booted from Ethan allen as we did earlier and they were headin’ up to Jerrys. I turn around and who might be in front of us……….all 8 goddamn kids packed in one mid-size car. It looked like something out of a circus. As we are behind them I get a call from Marc who is in the back seat of Joe’s car. No words were said, The conversation was strictly laughing. Then three little words came from Marc’s mouth that made my day, “Open the trunk”. As soon as those words spilled out of his mouth the trunk of Joes car popped open and what do we get as a surprise, Frankie curled up in a ball hiding in the trunk with the spare. After we pull in the Jerrys parking lot, everyone piles out of the car; except for Frankie. Before we let him out Joe decided to pull a few short stops and donuts in the parking lot. After everyone was out and focused on their next trick down the four, I decided to pull that little 3 flip again. We all take turns, except for Marc who was being Snaked the whole time. I was on like my 6th try and everything was well until I landed straight on the side of my foot. I felt a crack and I just stood there for a sec. The first things out of my mouth, “Mother F$#ker!”. I knew what just happened. I said fuck it I’m not lettin’ this stupid shit stop me from finally skating the session I have wanted for a while now. So I kept on skating, no flip tricks for me. I just stuck to shuv-its, shiftys, nollies, and 180s. After 20 min. I couldn’t take it. I left asking myself “Why the fuck does this shit always happen, When I hit somethin’ big, I don’t have a camera, When everyone is there, I can’t skate for shit, When no one is looking I land the most insane line?” What the fuck!?

Krux vs GrindKing

‘Till now I have put my entire skateboarding career (if that’s what you can call it) in the hands of a truck company called Grind King. Now I am not sponsored by them but I have been riding them for over 8 wonderful years. They have never let me down. I did however have some minor problems with them. First, the base of one one of the pairs I hads’ corner snapped. With this broken I could only put in 3 of the four screws. Another problem I encountered was also a problem with the base. It took a while for it to happen but a part on the underside of the base where the tip of the hanger is inserted in so the truck itself can turn, broke. I have no idea how, I hit big gaps and ollie off high obstacles but I don’t know if that is the reason. Other than those little mishaps everything else has worked like a dream. Instead of regular kingpins they use Allen wrenches which makes grinding (preferably feebles and smiths) allot smoother. I think the metal they use foe their kingpin is stronger than regular kingpins. I never snapped a king pin in my life. Grind Kings are also lighter than most other trucks.

But recently, I have moved on a little farther in experiencing new things. My hommie Cody gave me a new pair of Kruxs. So far they are holding up great. They gring super good and they feel sturdy as hell! They are a little heavier than the Grind Kings but so far I have no problems with them. They, like the GK’s, use an Allen wrench king pin allowing you to grind smoother. They seem hard to break and they cane take a beating. So is this an end to my journey with Grind King and am I about to embark on an epic adventure with Kruxs? Only time and skateboarding will tell.
